[Bug]: Basic Login Settings page does not load

What happened?

Version 10.2.1

The Basic Login Setting page does not load.

Error in red, "There was an error retrieving your content. Please check your internet connection."

Steps to reproduce?

From the Persona Bar, navigate as follows:

Settings --> Security --> Authentication --> Basic Login Settings

Current Behavior

Page does not load and following error appears at top of page in red:
There was an error retrieving your content. Please check your internet connection.

Expected Behavior

Page loads without error message.

DotNetNuke.Authentication.LiveID is not part of DNN Platform (it does contain DotNetNuke.Authentication.LiveConnect). I don't know if that's an old version of the same provider, or a 3rd party that kept the DotNetNuke prefix. It looks like it depends on a method that was removed in DNN 10.0.0. So that project may need to be updated, or you may need to move to the built-in "Live Connect" authentication provider.

Quick FYI - I just tested this on a new install of DNN v10.02.01 and this did not happen for me. PB panel loaded fine and no errors in the Admin Logs.

Thanks for looking at this. I went to Extensions and then Authentication Systems and removed both DNN_LiveIDAuthentication and DNN_OpenIDAuthentication. Afterwards the error went away and the Basic Info screen loaded correctly.

I also noticed the that "Default Authentication" was version 9.3.2 on my instance, but 10.2.1 is available. Would have the LiveID and OpenID extensions interrupted/prevented me from upgrading to 10.2.1 for Default Authentication?
