[BUG] Status text is truncated prematurely

Description

Standard terminal size of 80x24:

Even ignoring the fact that there's plenty of space left, "d" and "ng" are shorter than "..." so should not be truncated if the goal is to save space.

I'm not able to reproduce, can you share more details please like the Compose version you're using and the additional information from docker info, please?

One relevant detail tho is that I am running it in a GNU screen because I find detaching from Docker containers generally doesn't work (already reported at docker/for-win#14897)
