Anchor to Document Locations - Not custom bookmark

How do you create links to the auto-created bookmarks in the doc, rather than a custom bookmark?

This doc guides on how to create the Bookmark, and reference one.

However, when i follow this - creating both the bookmark for the heading (since one is not created automatically) and the anchor link, i get this:

Where as I want the bookmark to link to the "Headings > Heading 1" entry.

Is this possible?

So it looks like it's a two step process.

1. Do not wrap the bookmark in any content. Not even the header's text.
2. The bookmark ID must be the Heading's text with spaces replaced with underscores. (Maybe more than just spaces, but I have not yet tested further).
