Query including tabs causing AST failures

The following code generates types correctly and typechecks in the component, but at runtime results in an Invalid AST Node: {}.. This is because the graphql function is returning {}. The issue appears to be that the codegen step sets up documents containing "\t" as it is coded, but at runtime the tabs are converted to spaces and documents[source] is undefined.

I have confirmed that everything works if I edit the gql.ts file to have either of the following ways — clearly these aren't real solutions, but they show what's happening:

I've looked for some kind of configuration setting, overrides, etc., but I can't find anything anywhere that shows someone else experiencing this.
