I am planning to build this keyboard, but I noticed that the current design uses SOD-323 diodes, which in indeed quite challenging to solder by hand. I am considering modifying the PCB to use SOD-123 footprints instead, as they are much easier for manual assembly.
Have you ever tried using SOD-123 on this board (I know that they go under the key switches)? I am wondering if there are any specific space constraints or layout reasons that necessitate the smaller SOD-323 package.
