Description

WebOptimizer has had very little contributions since 2020. As it was recommended by this page I spent a long time moving all our pages that we're migrating across from .NET 4.8 to this method only to find it doesn't work. Please remove this from recommended options or get the repo up to date to support .NET versions that are in support

Closing as dupe but fixing #20808 for starters removing:
"ASP.NET Core is compatible with WebOptimizer, an open-source bundling and minification solution. For set up instructions and sample projects, see WebOptimizer. "

I see what happened here. Way back, it was discussed in PR https://github.com/dotnet/AspNetCore.Docs/pull/27667/files to remove line recommending WebOptimizer and close #20808 but although it was discussed it was not the focus and not actually removed and horribly, I missed that the line wasn't removed after all.

@CodersaurusRex, I'm am sorry to hear of the experience. We are removing the recommendation which can be followed in #20808. Thanks for taking the time to let us know.
