Consider splitting up ASP.NET Core metrics page

Perhaps:

• HTTP
• Diagnostics
• Blazor (Components)
  • Includes Microsoft.AspNetCore.Components, Lifecycle, and Server.Circuits.
• Authentication, authorization and Identity

@cmastr, sounds good, agreed, this sort of thing is a good one for Copilot. My experience so far with GitHub Copilot is that these require some pre-setup details followed by some clean up time after running copilot even for the simplest ones, while still saving some time overall.

@JamesNK, The original topic does not include Authentication, authorization and Identity, correct?
However, we could add these to that proposed separate doc? These sound right?

Authentication Metrics

• identity.login.attempts.total: Total number of login attempts.
• identity.login.success: Successful login count.
• identity.login.failure: Failed login count (e.g., invalid credentials, locked accounts).
• identity.token.issued: Number of tokens issued.
• identity.token.validation.duration: Time taken to validate tokens.

Authorization Metrics

• identity.authorization.checks.total: Total number of authorization checks.
• identity.authorization.success: Successful authorization decisions.
• identity.authorization.failure: Failed authorization attempts (e.g., insufficient roles or claims).

Identity Resolution Metrics

• identity.user.lookup.duration: Time taken to resolve user identity from token or session.
• identity.claims.resolution.duration: Time taken to resolve claims for a user.

Use Cases

• Monitor login health and detect brute-force attempts.
• Track authorization failures to identify misconfigured policies.
• Measure latency in identity resolution for performance tuning.

Metrics new in .NET 10 that haven't been added yet:

• Authentication
• Authorization
• Identity
• Memory pool

Components metrics (aka Blazor) have been added and are visible when .NET 10 is selected as the version.

The list will be quite long once all .NET 10 metrics are added. There are quite a few identity metrics in particular.

I suggest waiting until all the .NET 10 metrics have been added. Then we can look at this.
