Improve This Doc / edit page function

Hello,
how can i do it like microsft learn, if i click on edit page that it goes to a other repository and not the main one without using xhref?

Try setting the _gitContribute metadata. I know it works in the case where the doc build system generates Markdown from another file in the same repository before it runs DocFX and the edit link should point to the source file because the Markdown file is not in Git. I expect it will work in the two-repository case too.

okkey thanks for you answer. my problem is, if i use git submodule to add the md files from the other repository then it doesn't generate the function/link for the "edit page". Is there another way to do it?

I think it may be a bug in here:

docfx/src/Docfx.Common/Git/GitUtility.cs

Line 132 in 520cabc

var headPath = Path.Combine(directory, ".git", "HEAD");

It should be doing var headPath = Path.Combine(gitRoot, "HEAD");, in order to support submodules in which .git is a file that points into .git/modules/foo in the outer repository.
