Hi, I'm the tech lead for a Team that has been working with the development of apps built with Xamarin and MAUI for about 5 years now. We are all on Macbook pro machines. During these years, we have always had to live with various problems and lack of functions in the development environment for Mac. This has resulted in jumping between virtual machine with Windows and local Mac.
I fully understand that you are a small team with few resources but just want to get a recommendation which platform you will fully support. Is it the case that you recommend switching to Windows in order to be productive?
Below are some of the points that I feel do not work:
Previews of dotnet

You stop fixing bugs in version 7 and refer to 8. We are now in version 5 of preview but Visual studio for Mac Preview still lacks support for Dotnet 8. We are using Azure pipelines running MacOS so we need the preview to work on Mac to be able to use DotNet 8 also.
Saving of project files
If we try to use a mixed environment where we both use Windows and Mac, you format the project files differently so that it generates merge conflicts every time, I have reported this several times.
Hot Restart on MacOS

It thinks i never bin able to use this on MacOS and this has bin on the roadmap for years.
Extensions
The possibility to publish an extension to the Visual studio for mac store has not been possible for more than 2-3 years now when the possibility to register new accounts was closed. I have contacted you on several occasions regarding this without success.
Thanks Joacim
