Visual Studio 2022 proper setup

I have VS2022 setup. I have added the .NET MAUI (Preview) in the VS installer. It looks like I had to download the VS 2022 project template for maui from template I have created a project.

• I get a message saying "Based on your solution, you might need to install extra components for a full development experience." Next to that is an install link. I click the link, and I don't get any options. What do I need to install? is the message just an "accident?"
• I try to run the project without touching anything and I get an error about needing to install some workloads. "dotnet workload install maui-android" and "Dotnet workload install maui-android." Why aren't the workloads installed when I select the .net maui preview in the vs installer?
• when I run dotnet workload install maui-android (or maui-ios), I get an error as shown next. I am assuming that something is just not found. Any idea on how to fix this? Installation rollback failed: One or more errors occurred. (microsoft.net.sdk.ios.manifest-6.0.100.msi.x64::15.0.100-rc.1.1531 is not found in NuGet feeds https://api.nuget.org/v3/index.json;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\NuGetPackages".)
  Workload installation failed: One or more errors occurred. (microsoft.maui.core.ref.android.msi.x64::6.0.100-rc.1.1528 is not found in NuGet feeds https://api.nuget.org/v3/index.json;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\NuGetPackages".)

Any ideas on any of this? TIA

after several reinstalls of various stuff in vs2022 and an eventual reboot, I've got it working in an emulator. :-)
