Disable automatic focus of entry control within a stack on page appearing

If I open a page that has an entry control within a stack, that control not only receives focus but its entry dialog opens, even if the entry already has bound data, giving the false impression the data requires revision. I would much prefer to be able to designate which, if any, entry dialog should automatically open when the page appears,
