Trying to find Maui in Visual Studio and wanted to know if Maui is a checkbox in Visual Studio Installer now or perhaps is a plan in the future. Looking for a straight forward path to start using the tool now thats also easy to uninstall. |

Visual Studio Installer Ideas From the perspective of a user that wants a more modern approach I'll take a risk and throw out my true desires for Maui install process. Docker instanceYou run the docker command and when it finished there is this cool maui prompt or even a web interface. Hypervisor instanceInstead of installing windows or linux you install an Maui hypervisor instance... with all the bells and whistles... Its basically a fired up OS for developing Maui stuff. Hypervisor OS on linux or windowsHave a install of Maui on a separate windows install, linux install etc... Has protected software for developing Maui with everything pre-configured. Bare metal install of MauiHas massive documentation on how to install maui and keep it updated... much more difficult than the three options above that automates the update process. |

If Maui is a cloud only build... maybe when you build any Maui instances it would be it completely on the cloud and Visual Studio or the command line tool only interacts with it through an interface. Maybe all development and builds occur on the cloud completely negating a bare metal install. Just ideas... :) Obviously this is entirely possible given the direction of low code, microservices, docker, kubernetes, etc. |
