Is there benefit of json source gen for deserialize when using a custom converter?

I already use JSON source gen for things that don't have custom converters. I have 2 contexts: a Metadata one for de-serializing and a Serialization mode one for serializing. If I de-serialize using a custom converter, is there any added benefit of using source gen for that?
