Subject: Issue with Checkmate App Behind NGINX Reverse Proxy - "Something Went Wrong" on /login

Hi,

I'm trying to deploy the Checkmate app on an Ubuntu server using Docker, with an NGINX reverse proxy in front. Here's my setup:

Domain: checkmate.kwglobal.com (mapped to the server IP)

SSL termination handled via NGINX

Docker Compose is used to run both the Checkmate app and its database

When I run docker-compose up, both the app and database containers start successfully. However, when accessing the app via browser at https://checkmate.kwglobal.com, I'm redirected to /login and receive the following error message:

Something went wrong

Please return to homepage or refresh page due to unexpected error

I've confirmed that the DNS and SSL setup are working correctly, as I can reach the domain securely over HTTPS. Could anyone please help me debug this issue? We're aiming to get the Checkmate app fully operational as soon as possible.

Any guidance or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!

@akshata-deshpande123 , is your .env file setup is according to the documentation https://checkmate.dreamsportslabs.com/project/setup/
Once check GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID, GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET are valid
and Authorized JavaScript origins, Authorized redirect URIs are configured correctly in GCP Dashboard, they should be like Authorized JavaScript origins - https://xyz.com
and Authorized redirect URIs - https://xyz.com/callback

Thank you for reaching out.

Yes, our .env file setup follows the documentation correctly. The only difference is that we are implementing Microsoft OAuth, as our official mail server is managed through O365. We have made the necessary updates to accommodate this.

Currently, we are able to access the Microsoft login page, but we encounter an error once the redirection occurs after signing in and approving the authentication. The error we're seeing is:

Unexpected Server Error

TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'id')

Great to hear that it’s working well for you! If it’s not too much trouble, could you please raise a PR with your implementation of Microsoft OAuth authentication? It would be a valuable contribution and help strengthen this open-source project.
