CreateSharedLinkWithSettings return type w/o any params

Hi there, trying to create shared link with settings (create shared link is deprecated).

How to get response body params from this type??? Where it all??? It only has "IsSharedLinkMetadata" method, that does nothing

"CreateSharedLink" returns "PathLinkMetadata", that provides me all response params

Any suggestions?

The result contains the response parameters for the shared folder or shared file, accordingly.

For a shared files, you should expect this information to be contained in the response.

For a shared folder, you should expect this information to be contained in the response.

Keep in mind that CreateSharedLinkWithSettings does return different information than what CreateSharedLink used to. Feel free to review the documentation for each endpoint for more information:

According to Dropbox docs, create_shared_link_with_settings method returns smth like this:

And according to you answer for a shared file I should expect FileLinkMetadata in response. But as a result in code I has only one method, that does nothing. I can not retrieve any info (url or size for example)

Maybe I am doing smth wrong, but I still can not understand why sharing.CreateSharedLinkWithSettings() method does not return info like in dropbox official docs
If it my mistake, so please explain me how to get url param from response

Appreciate your patience while we got to work on this.

To clarify sharing.IsSharedLinkMetadata is an interface.

The actual response is a concrete type like *sharing.FileLinkMetadata or *sharing.FolderLinkMetadata. (FileLinkMetadata, FolderLinkMetadata.)

Since interface types don't expose struct fields directly, you need to type-assert the response to its concrete type before accessing fields like Url, as such:
linkMetadata := resp.(*sharing.FileLinkMetadata)

You should then be able to access fields like Url in this case:
fmt.Println(linkMetadata.Url)
