PHP exif extension missing

My Magento 2 environment requires the PHP extension exif for certain functions, but this extension does not appear to be included with this fork's php-fpm image. I've attempted various modifications of my local instance, to no avail; perhaps because exif needs to be enabled on compile. Would you consider adding this extension to your image?

I've stumbled across another PHP extension that Magento expects in my local environment: gettext. If it's possible to roll this into your PHP image as well, that would be quite appreciated.
