CABS Internship Agreement

This Internship Agreement ("Agreement") is made and entered into as of 2024/06/16, by and between the Chinese American Biopharmaceutical Society ("CABS") and "Intern".

1. Purpose and Scope of Internship

  • Educational Environment: The purpose of this internship is to provide the Intern with educational training similar to that which would be given in an academic setting. The training will involve various tasks and projects within the biopharmaceutical industry to enhance the Interns knowledge and skills.
  • Benefit to Intern: The Intern will develop skills and apply academic knowledge in a real-world setting, specifically gaining experience in data science, statistics and biostatistics, real-world evidence (RWE), and related pharmaceutical disciplines.

2. Internship Details

  • Duration: The internship will begin on June 15 and end on August 25.
  • Schedule: The Intern is expected to work 40 hours or a flexible time during the internship.
  • Location: The internship will take place in an Online/Remote style.

3. Supervision

  • The Intern will be supervised by the CABS internship mentor team, who will provide regular guidance, support, and feedback. The Intern will not displace regular employees but will work under close supervision.

4. No Immediate Advantage to Organization

  • The tasks assigned to the Intern are designed for educational purposes and may not provide immediate benefit to CABS. The Interns’ activities are intended to be a learning experience, and CABS may occasionally be impeded by the training process.

5. No Entitlement to Employment

  • The Intern understands that this internship does not entitle them to a job at the conclusion of the internship period. There is no expectation of future employment with CABS.

6. No Entitlement to Wages

  • The Intern acknowledges that this internship is unpaid and that they are not entitled to wages or any other compensation for the time spent in the internship. The Intern agrees to participate in this internship without expectation of financial compensation.

7. Mutual Understanding

  • Both parties understand and agree to the terms of this Agreement. CABS and the Intern have discussed and agreed upon the nature of the internship, the educational benefits, and the lack of compensation.

8. Miscellaneous

  • Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California.
  • Entire Agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes any prior or contemporaneous understandings, agreements, or representations.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Internship Agreement as of the day and year first above written.
