Dyad freezes when opening a project with many files (~16,000)

Describe the bug
After ‘opening in chat’ a project with ~16,000 working files (\data\storage\ 1500 subfolders and approx. 50,000 database entries), the project can no longer be loaded and edited in Dyad; Dyad freezes immediately. When I open the project in the browser and start the services via Powershell, the app works as usual.

Does Dyad attempt to index all files at startup? This would be unnecessary; can this be disabled?

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to 'Apps/Appname'
2. Click on 'Open Chat'
3. Dyad freeze instantly

Expected behavior
The app opens and I can continue developing the app as normal.

You might want to try downloading the latest beta release which enables native git by default — this should help with performance on large projects, based on this earlier comment.

hi @vanTemm, can you add data/storage to the .gitignore file at the root of your project? (you can do this outside of dyad since dyad is freezing). That should fix your issue.

Could explain a little more what these files are? Are these JSON files?

Hello, thank you, that helped with .gitignore.
In addition, I also ran:

git rm -r --cached data/storage
git commit -m ‘Stop tracking data/storage’‘

After this .getignore was actively implemented with

/data/storage
/data/storage/
