passwords not working

I installed slack-libpurple BitlBee on different PC, and my rooms only accept my Slack user ids, not email address, though was rejecting password, so I set a new on in each subdomain on slack.com, which did login to those and saved in password manager. However, slack-libpurple rejected it, even when I triple-checked I got it right, and when I copied it out of password manager and 'account slack set password password' (replacing second 'password' occurence)... I did that a few/couple times also. It was still working on my server (down) at home where I hadn't logged-out.

it looks like slack disabled the /api/auth.findUser method, which isn't even documented, dates back to 2015. this library is using ancient endpoints and needs to move off password auth as that isnt even officially supported anymore
