PHP 8.x Work (Progress and Vision)

An update for all of you who use this app for task management. Please interact with us through Discussions and bug reports, it will speed up our progress..

• PHP 8.x support is well under way. In fact all the PHP code is working. There are, however, a few outstanding issues
  As part of this task, we have removed Dwoo template engine and converted it to Smarty 4.x (painstakingly)
  There is a repo for the PHP version here

The following tasks are still outstanding

• JS Language strings are broken - this is due to the template engine change - fix in progress
• Prototype is a dead library, we will be converting it to jQuery in future iterations (we will get the app stable first)_
• Re-themeing the entire app to make it much more user-friendly and mobile-friendly

Longterm goals

• The entire frontend will be replaced with a more modern template engine. We currently converted to Smarty because it's the closest to the dead Dwoo engine that was in use before. We are thinking of converting the whole front end of the app to a nicer UI driven by React JS
• Setting up an extension store for extensibility
• API backend
• Browser app extension for easier time tracking and project updates
• Todoyu needs to follow PWA guidelines for more reach. Releasing a mobile app that's a wrapper for the mobile view of the app
• RENAMING THE APP - Todoyu sounds familiar, but it also sounds like it could be a channel on OnlyFans. We are always up for suggestions.
