new e107-past devleoper and ex e107 wiz returning

I'm having issues with the install no proper updated read me file-it's not updated it's giving old install detail, i also noticed e107_files, umm that used to be in the old system, umm not there now so chmod is an issue, so its more confusing now with files and where they primarily should be on chmod. please don't make me suffer wordpress lol I hate that thing. help with chmod on files and what exact files that needs chmod proper.

@paigestormblade chmod is easy..go into admin /(tools)/database/correct perms .
The only manual (sometimes) is config php > 644.
And yes some foldernames(structure) are gone or diff. name f.e. files or downloads folder > these are combined in folder media.

And update issues? did you run (in admin) any notice of update 'something'...make these steps, and iff from old version plugins might give errors. From v1 to v2 a lot has changed.

On a localhost, you can have multiple folders ( i have multiple working copies of e107 on separated folders on my localhost development server), but on a live host i think it's different.
For instance, my free host doesn't allow for MySQL views, so i have to adapt my own plugins for both versions (with & without VIEWS...)
Jus to show you the "odds" of "crippled" live hosting x "everything" localhost....

@rica-carv i also find it strange.(maybe i missed something or do not understand the "sub".)
My cases (still some have) are subs (as in subdomain)(live and local) having own intstalls.Sorry if i misunderstand.
