understanding index configuration and usage

What is the problem

Based on the sheer number of posts on various channels, the docs could do a better job of explaining indexes, query optimisation, and the use of monex. While I think the information for all this is largely out there, folks can't seem to find it, leading to the same questions popping up again and again. In particular, understanding the display of monex seems to be an issue.

I don't know yet how to communicate this better, but i m thinking a screencast and some edits are necessary.

Better navigation, add keywords to documentation, improve search engine findabilty. In the end creating screencasts is rather time consuming, some time annoying to listen too and... there is no find option :-)

first hit for indexing exist-db is a direct link to the article, I'd say yes?
