search in code listings

Where is the problem

In app search only covers the contents of the primary db5 xml files. Code listings are therefore not directly searchable.

What is the problem

It would be useful, if i could search all instances of e.g. java -jar start.jar in codelistings. Merging listings back into db5 is not something I am keen on, this always ends badly. For xml listings xinclude would probably solve our problem, but we also want to search .txt listings, and also need to make sure that these are visually distinct from regular search results in the result view.

I'm not yet sure how to best go about this, any suggestions?

• in 4.x.x you could index the code listings separately using ft:index and ft:search
• in 5.0: assign a field to the indexed division containing the code to index

hmm i tried to index the .txt binaries with fields but no luck so far.
will try again at some point, the following is a good test query string
