Names in the raster

👋 @eblondel! This is a follow-up on #159 that you locked.

I am actually really curious as to why the information on the band isn't encoded in the filename, because it makes it really hard to reverse-engineer what band is where. I might be missing something obvious.

I'm now thinking that if there are several bands, the best approach is to send one request per band this way we still know what the band is.

Do you know of some similar use cases, what do developers usually do?

Hum just on the issue, I'vve converted it to discussion #160 so we can keep exchanging there; If it's ok I delete the present discussion as it's duplicate.
Regarding adding the band to the filename I have to check. The choice made, in particular for the sack was to rely on the dimensions of the raster coverage (ie time, elevation); The band is not an explicit dimension, and it's probably why I didn't look at that.
