vscode notification left spinning on project deletion of remote project #3157

Description:
When deleting a number of projects from my remote codewind on IBM Cloud vscode left a number of "removing" notifications for a couple of hours. Looking on OCP I can see the projects have gone and if I manually refresh the remote connection in vscode/codewind the projects dissapear.
I had previously tried remote debug so not sure if that has any influence
Steps to reproduce:
Open projects on a remote connection and then remove.
Workaround:
I have a codewind diagnostic zip available
