MinutesRelease engineering@jonahgraham has been ensuring that what exactly happens for a release is being documented in #1190. This is being done to increase CDT's releng bus factor above 1. I will notify @jld01 on the next iteration of releng work to see if he can handle some of it with my guidance and written instructions started in #1190. This is expected in late August in preparation for SimRel 2025-09 CommittersMuch of the discussion at the call today was about committers, especially as we expect to welcome @betamaxbandit and @ewaterlander as new committers in the coming days. Their elections are progressing well (John's and Erwin's). The rights and responsibilities of committers are well outlined in the EDP, specifically the 4.7 Committers and Contributors section. The CDT project does not have much specific policy on what extra rights and responsibilities there are for committers, however the Direct Pushes, Pull Requests and Reviews section of the CDT policy is a useful reference. There were no objections to retiring the inactive committers as outlined in #1183 DependenciesSome discussion on dependencies happened, especially in relation to eclipse-cdt/cdt-lsp#510 (comment) and related discussions on Oomph vs non-Oomph. We have a mixture of Oomph and non-Oomph active contributors and committers. No specific conclusion was reached - but there was agreement that we can release CDT or CDT LSP out of SimRel's cycle and when we do, what we depend on must be fully released dependencies, as was done, for example, in CDT LSP 3.1's release. Specifically on what to do for CDT LSP will be continued in eclipse-cdt/cdt-lsp#510 Next callThe next call is scheduled on July 9th. The discussion will be created with the cdtcalls label in the coming weeks. |
