"Illegal group reference" if source file name contains a '$'

I have a source file with a dollar sign in it. Let's say 'Hello$World.cpp'.
With that file, I can't build. I get "Illegal group reference".
Is there a workaround ?

PS : no need to comment to explain why it's a bad idea to put '$' in a file name. Not my choice...
