Cross compilation - Windows MacOS Linux

I always build my projects under windows and ubuntu, but now i need to start building under MacOS but i am seeing in the latest release (v6.0.1 https://eclipse-ecal.github.io/ecal/releases/ecal_6_0_1.html#ecal-release-page-6-0-1) there's no option to MacOS. Any ideas? will be released any version for macos?

You are right, ready-to-use eCAL installers are currently only provided for Linux (specifically Ubuntu) and Windows, not for macOS. This is due to the fact that for the companies using and developing eCAL, macOS has never been a relevant platform.

What can you do?

• You can try to compile eCAL yourself on macOS. Even though no binaries are published, eCAL is still compiled for macOS for every commit, so you can start by checking the official Github Action workflow: https://github.com/eclipse-ecal/ecal/blob/support/v6.0/.github/workflows/build-macos.yml
  Please be aware, that eCAL on macOS is basically untested and not ready for production. If you still chose to try compiling eCAL on macOS, we are more than happy to accept PRs that fix macOS related bugs.

• Alternatively, you can switch the operating system. If you only have an Apple computer available, you can set up a virtual machine (preferably using Ubuntu) and use it for development. The eCAL PPA / apt repo provides ARM64 binaries for Ubuntu.
