What is the GModelRecordingCommand doing? - UnsupportedOperationException

I run into a interesting situation.

I have implemented a custom Operation and OperationHandler to update some data on the server side when the user is editing some data in the client diagram panel.

To transport my data I create a JsonObject with a complex data structure (this object is part of the JsonForms integration).

Now when I try to change/extend the given data object (JsonObject) I see the following exception:

The root of this exception seems to be GModelRecordingCommand.execute() method. This method causes the exception after I try to add a new attribute to the json object

I thought my json object is a stupid pojo and should not have any relation to the GLSP command stack.

I wonder why this kind of exception is thrown?
