Generic way to add eclipse source folder

is it still true that there is no generic way to add a source folder to eclipse from within a mojo?

If not, I propose to extend BuildContext to support this. Code generation seems like an important task for maven. An easy way for plugin developers to do so seems appropriate.

Or maybe I am just using the wrong dependencies.

<groupId>org.sonatype.plexus</groupId>
<artifactId>plexus-build-api</artifactId>
<version>0.0.7</version>

seems very old and this hints to a replacement "in the near future". But that page is from 2013.
