Meeting Minutes

• Currently, the https://github.com/eclipse-score/baselibs includes a wrapper for the https://github.com/nlohmann/json C++ library.
• The vajson library mentioned in the baselibs code can't be open-sourced. The vajson eclipse score json glue code should be removed in the future.
• The plan is to fork the nlohmann_json and work on its safety qualification.
  • The idea has been discussed with the author, Niels Lohmann. He supports the effort, but there is no agreement that the changes in the library will be upstreamed.
  • The risk is that it may become difficult to sync changes from the upstream if the fork deviates too much.
• Contributions to the https://github.com/eclipse-score/baselibs can be done as issues or pull requests.
• Current work to qualify the nlohmann_json fork:
  • Possibly, the mechanism for error handling needs be restructured. Exceptions are discouraged as they would lead to program abort.
  • Compliance to the MISRA C++:2023
• We agreed to put the code to an incubation repository (e.g. inc_json). The Baselibs module will pull the code from that repository (possibly via the bazel_registry) instead of the https://registry.bazel.build/modules/nlohmann_json.
  • when we will migrate to the official repository, the S-CORE process needs to be fulfilled.
