Meeting minutes

ad 1.

• Suggestion: Workshop to outline the very basic API design (drawings / code)
• Before: (~10 days) everyone looks into the topic and gets acquainted with the C++ side and the available API outlines
• @darkwisebear will get the suggestion for mw::service merged (@darkwisebear add link to existing code as comment)
• @simon-acc will check whether internal code can be released within that time frame (Iceoryx 2 based)
• @HartmannNico already provided a demo app / API, see comments for link to code
• Suggested initial workshop date: Thu, March 27th, 2pm CET-5pm CET. Goal: Have PR in place with suggested API, comments welcome until Apr 3th.
• API shall orient itself on the "best-in-class" solution. Implementations / backends need to augment their APIs to fit.
• Goal for initial API merge on Apr 3th, let's quickly sync that day (preferably late afternoon, 5pm, 30 mins)
• Initial mockup API will be done just like tinyjson has been done (as quick as possible)

ad 2.

• Connect mockup API with mw::com (@darkwisebear)
• Exploratory connection mockup API with Iceoryx 2 (@darkwisebear)
• Create sample application to work with new API (@darkwisebear)

ad 3. Technical questions to be discussed

• Will we need to support uninitialized sample pointers? Assumption: yes
  • Should we provide a default-initialized SamplePtr?
• Will sample pointers be "auto-sent" when initialized and then dropped without being sent.
• How will we "challenge" the API design? Suggestions:
  • Write tests for use cases of the API
  • Create two binaries talking via "simple IPC"
