Extending Sirius Web & Understanding Architecture

I have setup eclipse sirius web locally and looking to extend it, much like SysON, which basically adds sysML v2 support of the top of existing sirius web framework.
I am looking to add a new model on top of sirius web, which contains few components and edges, lets say there are:

Comp1
    Child1
    Child2
Comp2
    Child3
Connectors
    Con1
    Con2
    Con3

Components can be of any shape at the moment and the backend model needs to be JSON (can be EMF or any). One representation is enough.

1. Can you recommend me some article/documentation that is helpful in understanding of sirius web architecture, how backend/frontend works and communicate with each other.
2. Any pointers that can be helpful in achieving above mentioned requirements.
