I would be happy to review this patch, however, I would like to be able to test it. It seems that to get a .xtr trace, you need to have a board to run rtos. Do you know if I can generate a trace without one and if possible would you be able to provide a test trace ?

Thank you for this proposal. I will ask the core members of the team whether we can provide you with test traces. Stay tuned.

Our test suite is, in fact, leveraging a Linux-specific port of ThreadX. In theory, you could build an application to run in the same environment and generate test traces from it.

I am myself unfamiliar with TraceX. I did a cursory review of the documentation and it seems that some work is required to get an application to generate the traces.

We have hardware stocked in Canada, the United States, and Germany. We could ship you a free board (leveraging a ST Cortex-M4 MCU). You could then leverage our sample starter application for that board to experiment with TraceX. Let me know if that is of interest.
