[25.12][INT] Test Company Governance Credentials stuck in status "pending" after confirmation

Current Behavior

After requesting a DataExchangeGovernanceCredential in a Test Company, the credential request (seemingly) can be approved successfully via the Portal Frontend UI in the C-X Operator Company as an administrator.

But the request then is still displayed as "pending", and the credential is not issued to the company.
Trying to click "confirm" again results in a message "Something went wrong. Please contact your administrator."

Sidenote: Declining a request was successful, and the request then is no longer shown in the "pending" overview. Restarting the same credential request for the company results again in a "pending" status.

Issue may not be rooted in the Portal Frontend or Backend itself but caused by other services such as SSI Credential Issuer or Wallet. Please investigate.

Expected Behavior

After approving a credential request, the credential should be issued and the request showing up under the "active" credentials tab.

Steps To Reproduce

C-X Operator https://portal.int.catena-x.net/adminCredential

Tested with same result for the following Test Companies:

• BPNL00000000726A (created a long time ago, already had a prior credential from an earlier test phase)
• BPNL000000009QA8 (created recently)
• BPNL000000009X5D (created recently)

A pending request was approved by the Administrator, with a success message displayed initially in the Frontend UI.
A notification was successfully received by the requestor by email ("Company Wallet - SSI Credential Approved") and in portal (with a cryptic message "verified Credential 12 got assigned to your company wallet" -> separate minor UI issue could be created ).

But in C-X Operator as well as in the requesting Test Company, the credential request remains in status "pending".

At stated above, clicking the "confirm" button again results in a message "Something went wrong. Please contact your administrator."

Notification in Portal -> Minor related UI issue. Potentially text should be adapted to match the email notification that this approval relates to the Data Exchange Governance Credential

Errors I found in DB:

• call to external system https://*********.dim.cloud.sap/api/v2.0.0/credentials failed with statuscode 422 - Message: {"timestamp":"Wed, 19 Nov 2025 07:56:01 GMT","status":422,"message":"Could not issue and sign credential: credential was created with id 2fa58551-caca-4843-aa73-7051cc9249f3 but could not be signed. BaseError: Expiration time cannot be greater than 2026-10-25T12:47:08.288Z","error":"UNPROCESSABLE_ENTITY","path":"/api/v2.0.0/credentials","correlationId":"88d2b435-387b-4faf-56ab-ef2daac51fa1"}

After retrigger I got:

After an in-depth investigation, we assume that the issue is related to the membership credentials for the c-x operator having expired. They need to be renewed or extended.
@Phil91 Please can you support with this?

Data Exchange Governance Credential application and approval tested successfully again today, after "manually" completing steps to issue and upload a new DID document for C-X Operator.

We will keep the defect open until next week to see if further steps are needed.
