Expanding Image Terms

I was wondering if you would consider expanding the image terms to include more specific microscopy terms. The CMO has an expansive set of microscopy terms.

If it would be helpful, I can follow your "Request new EDAM Data concept" template and put the various terms into that format.

We've been working on imaging-related EDAM concepts with the bioimage analysts' community, you might be interested in checking it out: https://github.com/edamontology/edam-bioimaging (you can view it at the NCBO BioPortal or WebProtégé, with free registration required at the latter where we also keep most of the online discussion threads).

The various imaging modalities are modelled as EDAM topics. In contrast, the Data sub-ontology in EDAM-bioimaging is still in quite an alpha version, and the plan is to keep it rather minimalistic.

If you're willing to help, it will be super appreciated! The best entry points are issues or PRs in the repo, and comments at WebProtégé.
