Popups sometimes flash in top-left corner of page before adjusting to correct position

As the title says, popups sometimes flash in the top-left corner of the page before the adjust to be in the correct position. This happens with every popup every time in IE 11, and it happens in Chrome/FF when the browser is running slowly. I've been digging at the code for a while and I'm not sure how to fix this. I know the repo is dead, but anyone have any ideas?
