Support for Linux boot protocol

We should support the standard Linux boot protocol so that we can bypass the EFI stub if the user has a situation where that isn't functional.

I’ve worked with EFI stub in the Linux kernel in the past, but I don’t know how things work on the other side. Is this a beginner-friendly task that I can pick up?
