What happened to useInputEvent in v1?

I used to do:

const referenceArticleUrlsInputRef = useRef<HTMLTextAreaElement>(null);

const referenceArticleUrlsInputControl = useInputEvent({
  ref: referenceArticleUrlsInputRef,
});

and then later somewhere update value like...

referenceArticleUrlsInputControl.change(

How is that done now?
