Hi GFOSS team and mentors, 👋

My name is Kunal, and I am an undergraduate student concurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, and a Bachelor’s in Data Science and Applications at IIT Madras.

I am highly interested in contributing to glossAPI for GSoC 2026. The project's mission to bridge the gap between academic PDFs and LLM-ready Markdown datasets via GPU-accelerated pipelines aligns perfectly with my recent work in autonomous agents and deep learning.

Technical Background & Recent Focus:

• Automation & RAG: Developed a portfolio of autonomous workflow agents using Gemini, Ollama, and Python RAG architectures.
• Computer Vision & DL: Built real-time focus detection systems and MRI reconstruction models using TensorFlow, Keras, and OpenCV.
• Backend: Proficient in Python (FastAPI/Flask) and experienced with Milvus vector database integrations. I am currently familiarizing myself with the Rust components of the glossAPI architecture.

Current Action Plan:

1. I am currently configuring my local Ubuntu environment to execute the setup_glossapi.sh script and run the baseline pipeline tests.
2. I am auditing the existing issue tracker to identify high-impact bugs or documentation gaps for my initial contribution.
3. I am drafting a proposal focused on optimizing the document processing workflow for larger academic datasets.

Are there specific modules or experimental features within the glossAPI pipeline that the mentoring team suggests focusing on for initial technical contributions?
