I realize you’re dealing with more significant issues, but I’m curious if allowing swaps the other way is something you eventually plan on supporting and whether it is even technically feasible?

Yes, once FCMP++ goes live it will be possible. The hardfork enables transaction pre signing which is the piece that is currently missing.
