Inline code in left side navigation not rendered as expected.

Expected behavior

Titles with Markdown inline code syntax should either be formatted as inline code or plain text. Either way the ` should be removed.

Steps to reproduce

This seems to be a widespread issue, but here's an example:

1. Build the elasticsearch.md doc set
2. Go to http://localhost:5000/zip-windows.html
