What happened?
We need to report what are the K8s distros (versions and vendors) on which EDOT Collector has been tested on.
We also need to check what are the recommended settings (esp. regarding security or performance) for specific K8s distros (e.g. OpenShift).
When we mean "has been tested on" we do not just mean where EDOT Collector starts, but where it actually collects all the logs & metrics to implement the o11y flows.
For EA, we have https://www.elastic.co/support/matrix#matrix_kubernetes:~:text=support%20OpenShift%203.11.-,Kubernetes%20Compatible%20Versions,-Last%20updated%3A%202025 but it is not fully clear if we just tested it's running or if we validated the full observability flow (K8s integration).
