Strategy for linking to serverless vs stateful APIs in narrative/procedure docs

do we want/need a serverless link wherever we reference the API?
how else could we do linking better? should we link to the serverless API from the stateful API and vice versa?

There's been a long-standing discussion about whether we can get OpenAPI documents for Elasticsearch and Kibana that encompass both deployment contexts (i.e. each aspect of the API would need to clearly indicate whether it's applicable to serverless). It doesn't seem imminent but should be kept in mind when discussing this linking strategy.
