Soon we will be officially supporting self hosted LLMs for 9.2. This will be a good opportunity for us to create an e2e guide for how to use the AI Assistant in an airgapped environment.
Currently we have docs for how to run elser in air gapped environment. Obs AI Assistant users who want to use the KB need do this.

However, we should have a section in the existing AI Assistant settings that links to these instructions and fills in any gaps, so the user doesn't have to go looking for these.
There is a separate issue to create docs for self hosted llms that i mentioned above and we can link to that here as well.
