File-Based Standalone Use

I’m curious about the possibility of file-based standalone use, e.g., a single-file binary or library that embeds the pglite runtime and lets me open a local .pglite file for storage, similar to how SQLite works with .sqlite files.

Is this already on the roadmap? Is this technically possible?

it is possible and possibly using https://github.com/wokwi/littlefs-wasm as a wasi Filesystem which will offer wear leveling on a single image ( postgres uses a LOT of files ). No ETA though.

Would OrioleDB decrease the massive amount of files used?
