Links (URLs) are a core part of the web and of Matrix. Sharing links to resources is the best way to communicate a resource to others. A Matrix client should therefore make it easy for the user to obtain links to the various Matrix resources: users, rooms, spaces, etc.
At the moment, Element clients don't handle this very intuitively nor consistently. As an example, obtaining a link to a space on Element Desktop currently entails right-clicking on a space, clicking on Invite and then finding a text link saying share this space in the dialogue's introductory text. IMO, this action should be much more prominent given how important it is.
Ideally, the user should be able to copy the link to a resource to the clipboard with one or two clicks. It should also be handled as consistently as possible across both the different resource types and platforms.
Some possible suggestions:
Add a button with the clipboard/copy icon next to the resource's name on the resource page. For instance, when viewing a user's profile or from the space home page.
Add action to right-click menu of the resource (room, space, etc) on Element Desktop.
Consider implementing ability to copy a link to the resource on long-tapping on a resource on mobile clients.
The above are just arbitrary suggestions I thought of and might not be appropriate. The point is to make copying links to resources easy and uniform and requires thinking about the problem holistically.
Consistent pillification of resources across platforms goes hand-in-hand with this, in that it improves UX around link sharing.
