Issue

Notification sounds are not working correctly. There are no sounds for notifications — neither on the desktop version nor on the mobile app. Please fix this issue.

Steps to reproduce

Enable notification sounds in the app settings.

Wait for a new message or notification.

Observe that no sound is played.

What did you expect?

Notification sounds should play when a new message or event occurs, both on desktop and mobile apps.

What happened instead?

No notification sound is played — neither on the Ubuntu desktop app nor on the iOS mobile app.

Desktop: Ubuntu

Desktop (Ubuntu): 1.12.2

Mobile (iOS): 1.11.32

How did you install the app?

Desktop: Installed via official website package

Mobile: Installed via App Store

This repo cannot help you with issues on the mobile app.

But given you are seeing the same issue on multiple codebases it seems like an issue with your Matrix homeserver or your user's push rules.

Please provide logs and a screenshot of the Settings > Notifications tab
