Steps to reproduce
- Open element desktop.
- A banner shows with the message: "Verify this session. Other users may not trust it"
- click "Verify:
- Three buttons are presented: "Use another device", "Use recovery key", "Can't confirm?"
- click "Use another device"
- In the "Choose how to verify" dialog, choose "Compare using unique emoji"
- Confirm on other device that the emoji match
- Confirm on element-desktop that the emoji match
- Dialog displays message: "Device verified. Now you can read or send messages securely, and anyone you chat with can also trust this device."
Outcome
What did you expect?
The "Verify this session. Other users may not trust it" banner disappears and All settings -> Encryption shows device is verified
What happened instead?
banner does not go away.
In All settings -> Encryption it shows: "Device not verified. You need to verify this device in order to view your encryption settings."
