Can modifiers like shift or alt be used? If so, how?

Basically the title, if shift or alt modifers may be used as a way for
Multi_key> Shift <a> : "somthing".

Can we distinct between left/right shit/alts, and press down state?

afaik only shift is supported through sequences but not directly, i.e. "A" and "a" are separate keys according to the sequence so you can have 2 sequences like <Multi_key> Shift <a> : "somthing" and <Multi_key> Shift <A> : "somthing", im not sure about alt as thats one of the possible compose keys and it might cause problems but id have to look into it
